Innovative and Intelligent Connection Systems (IICS)

One important objective of Subarea 1.2 is to prepare innovative connection techniques up to the point where they can be seen as standard in the area of construction. Furthermore, characteristic values of existing sets of standard specifications will be reviewed, verified and their scope of validity and reliability clarified in the application. As an example, reference can be made to the investigations currently being started in the area of the rigidity on the effective bearing area of the hole for spruce at the Institute for Timber Engineering and Wood Technology. Here, a need has become apparent which will first have to be discussed at an international level.
